We’re so glad you’re here and excited for the school year ahead! Here’s what you need to know to get started.




What to Bring to School


Please send your child with:

  • Indoor shoes
  • Outdoor shoes
  • Lunch
  • A water bottle
  • A change of clothes (just in case!)

Please label everything with your child’s name, it really helps items find their way back home instead of the lost and found.


School Fees


School fees are $50 per student, per year:

  • $40 – School supplies
  • $10 – Cultural fees

Payments are made online through School Cash Online. Please register at:

School Communication


Make sure we have up to date contact information including your email address so you can receive our weekly newsletter, “What’s Happening at AME?” It’s the best way to stay in the loop!


Reporting Absences or Lates


Please download the SchoolMessenger app to report absences and late arrivals quickly and easily.


Volunteering


We love having volunteers in our school!

To volunteer, you’ll need:

  • Two pieces of government-issued ID
  • A School District 23 Criminal Record Check (completed through our office)


Lunch Program


Our PAC organizes hot lunch through Muchalunch:

School District 23 also offers brown bag lunches for families who may need support. Please reach out to the office for more information — we’re happy to help.


Parent Advisory Council (PAC)


Every parent/guardian at AME is part of PAC! Meetings are usually held once a month (except December, March, and June) in the library.

PAC:

  • Shares school updates
  • Provides input on school policies
  • Organizes fun events and fundraisers

Some of our favourite events include:

  • Scholastic Book Fair
  • Family Dance
  • Family Photos
  • Spring Fun Fair
  • Spirit Wear
  • Hot Lunch

We’re always looking for volunteers, whether you can help a little or a lot, we’d love to have you involved. Join a meeting or connect with the PAC executive to learn more.


Pick Up & Drop Off

  • Students wait outside until the 8:25 a.m. bell.
  • Students arriving after 8:30 a.m. must sign in at the office.
  • If your child is leaving early, a parent/guardian must sign them out at the office.


Morning Drop Off

  • Please do not drop students off before 8:00 a.m. (there is no supervision before then).
  • Do not park in staff parking lots while waiting.
  • No parking in the bus loop or in front of garbage/recycling bins at any time.


Accessible Parking


Accessible parking is available in the staff lot. Please display a valid City of Kelowna Accessible Parking Pass.
